Sabrina is a dedicated public servant who believes in the value of data-driven and informed policy making.  She currently serves as the deputy director for the State of Hawaii Department of Budget and Finance and is an appointee of the Governor as a trustee to the Employer Union Health Benefits Trust Fund.

She earned degrees in Economics, Demographic Analysis, and Sociology, and completed her PhD dissertation on the socioeconomic history and accumulation of wealth in Hawaii over the 20th century.

She is an Omidyar Fellow, and has published her academic work in theHandbook of Population Studies and Feminist Formations. She is passionate about using data and research to develop policies that improve people’s lives and reduces inequality in Hawaii.
